Concrete & Hardscaping in Irving, TX

Concrete in Irving fails for two reasons: base prep that was rushed thirty years ago, and clay that moves every time the weather swings. Valley Ranch driveways and walkways poured in the 80s are now cracked and out of level, while newer east-side lots mostly need extension rather than replacement.

We assess grade, drainage and soil before quoting a square foot of it, because on this ground the part you cannot see decides how long the part you can see lasts.

Why homeowners in Irving hire us

Base and reinforcement, not just finish

Compacted base, correctly placed rebar and control joints cut on time. A beautiful broom finish over poor base is a crack you have not met yet.

    Pavers where clay keeps moving

On lots with active movement or mature tree roots, a jointed paver surface can be lifted and reset instead of demolished. We recommend it when it is the right answer and pour concrete when that is.

    Drainage first on tight lots

Patio homes and townhomes drain through narrow side yards and shared easements. We keep those routes working and add area drains rather than sending your water into a neighbor’s slab.

    Dallas County permitting

Driveway approaches and work in the right-of-way go through City of Irving review. We file, schedule and meet the inspector on request.

    Thirty-year-old flatwork on moving ground

The bulk of Irving's residential concrete was poured during the Valley Ranch and Las Colinas build-outs, which means a lot of it is now thirty to forty years old and sitting on expansive clay that has been through several drought-and-flood cycles. Typical symptoms: driveway panels that have separated at the joints, walkways lifted by tree roots, and patios that have tipped just enough to send water back toward the house. On zero-lot-line and patio-home properties, the drainage path is narrow and shared, so any new surface has to be graded deliberately rather than poured flat. In the newer neighborhoods along the north and east edges of the city the concrete is sound and the work is additive — extending a slab for an outdoor kitchen, adding a stone terrace, widening a drive. Either way the sequence is the same: fix the grade, build the base, reinforce it, then finish it. Permits go through the City of Irving.
