Concrete & Hardscaping in Plano, TX

Concrete in Plano fails for one of two reasons: the soil under it moved, or water had nowhere to go. Both are fixable, and both are decided before anyone mixes anything — in how the subgrade is prepared, how the slab is reinforced, and where the fall is set.

We pour patios, driveways, walkways and steps, and we set paver and stone hardscaping where a jointed surface handles movement better than a monolithic slab. Which one is right depends on the grade, the drainage, and how the space connects to the house.

Why homeowners in Plano hire us

Drainage planned before the forms go in

We shoot grades and set fall away from the foundation. On the flat lots common in Plano that sometimes means a drain line or a swale, and we would rather build that in than watch water pond against your brick.

    Reinforcement matched to the soil

Blackland clay expands and contracts with the season. Slabs get compacted base, rebar on chairs rather than mesh laid on dirt, and control joints cut on time so cracking happens where we put it.

Clean edges and a finish that matches the house

Broom, salt, sand or exposed aggregate finishes, and paver patterns cut tight to the border. On a brick-heavy Plano elevation the color and joint detail matter as much as the layout.

Straight answers about repair versus replacement

Some slabs can be extended or leveled. Others are past it and pouring next to them just moves the problem. We will tell you which one you have before you spend money on the wrong fix.

    Why Plano slabs crack

Plano sits on Blackland Prairie clay, which can swell and shrink by several inches through a wet spring and a dry August. On the 1980s and 1990s subdivisions across the city, original driveways and patios were poured thin, over minimal base, with wire mesh that ended up on the bottom of the pour instead of the middle. Thirty years of movement later, you get separated joints, corner heave near downspouts, and patios that have tilted enough to send water back at the foundation. Rebuilding correctly means base prep and reinforcement that assumes the ground will move, plus a real drainage plan — often the most valuable part of the job even though none of it is visible when we leave. Where a driveway approach ties into the public right of way, City of Plano permitting applies and we handle it.
