    Kitchen Remodeling in Allen, TX

Allen homes are at the twenty-year mark. The median build year here is 2003, about a third of the city went up between 2000 and 2009, and another fifth from 2010 to 2019 — so most kitchens we walk into are fifteen to twenty-five years old. The structure is fine. The finishes are worn out.

That is a specific situation, and it is not the same as Plano or Frisco. You are not rescuing a bad 1980s layout, and you are not doing a luxury upgrade on a two-year-old build. You are giving a sound house its first real refresh — and the smart version of that spends money on what actually failed.

Why homeowners in Allen hire us

We know what wears out at twenty years

First-generation granite or laminate that now looks dated, builder cabinet boxes that are structurally sound but tired, sagging drawer glides, failing under-mount hinges, and the "we will fix that later" list from 2003 that is finally due. We separate what needs replacing from what needs refinishing.

Refinish or replace, priced side by side

Allen builder cabinetry is usually plywood-box quality worth keeping. In-place spray refinishing plus new quartz, hardware and lighting can transform the room for a fraction of a full replacement — and when the boxes are not worth it, we say that instead.

We look at the systems behind the finish

At this age the original water heater and HVAC are at or past end of life, and it is far cheaper to address a relocation or a supply line while the walls are open than to come back in two years.

    HOA-aware, owner-run, paid by stage

Twin Creeks, StarCreek and Watters Crossing all have architectural review for exterior work. Tom runs the crew on site, and payments follow completed stages — demo, rough-in, cabinetry, finish.

    The twenty-year mark in Allen

Allen has almost no pre-1980 housing stock and very little that qualifies as historic. What it has instead is a dense band of master-planned construction — Twin Creeks, StarCreek, Watters Crossing and their neighbors — built largely between 2000 and 2019, with the median house dating to 2003. Kitchens from those years were already reasonably open, so the layout usually works. What has aged is everything you touch: speckled first-generation granite or laminate tops, honey-oak or dark-stained builder doors, four-inch backsplashes, halogen can lights, and cabinet hardware that has been failing one drawer at a time. Because the boxes themselves are often solid plywood, Allen is the city where refinishing pays off most reliably — the same money that buys a partial replacement elsewhere buys a completed room here. Exterior-visible work falls under HOA architectural review in most of these communities, and we prepare the submittals when it does.
