    Kitchen Remodeling in Plano, TX

Most of the kitchens we remodel in Plano were built between the mid-1980s and the late 1990s. They were well built for their time — solid framing, generous square footage — but they were laid out for a different way of cooking and entertaining: a wall between the kitchen and the living room, a soffit dropping the upper cabinets to seven feet, one dim fixture in the center of the ceiling, and two outlets for a countertop that now has to run a mixer, a coffee machine, and an air fryer.

That is why a cosmetic-only refresh often disappoints here. New doors on an old layout leave you with the same crowded corner, the same dark work surface, and the same tripped breaker. We start by looking at what the room is actually doing wrong before quoting anything.

Why homeowners in Plano hire us

We scope layout and electrical first

Before we talk finishes we walk the room with you: where the wall can come out, whether the soffit is hiding ductwork or just air, how many dedicated circuits the countertop needs to meet code. That is the difference between a kitchen that looks new and one that works.

Two honest paths, quoted side by side

If your cabinet boxes are solid, refinishing them saves weeks and thousands. If they are particleboard, sagging, or in the wrong place, replacing them is the cheaper decision over ten years. We tell you which one your kitchen is, and why.

    Owner on the job

Tom runs the crew and is on site through the project. You get one phone number for questions, and answers the same day — not a call center and a project code.

Paid by stage, never up front

Payments are tied to completed work: demo, rough-in, cabinetry, finish. You never carry the whole cost ahead of the crew.

    What's included

    • Demolition and haul-off, with the rest of the house dust-sealed
    • Soffit removal and non-structural wall openings where the layout calls for it
    • Electrical updates — dedicated countertop circuits, GFCI protection, under-cabinet and recessed lighting
    • Plumbing relocation for sinks, dishwashers, and pot fillers
    • Cabinetry: new shaker or flat-panel boxes, or in-place spray refinishing of sound existing boxes
    • Quartz or granite countertops, templated after cabinets are set
    • Full-height tile backsplash, hand-set
    • Flooring — luxury vinyl plank, tile, or refinishing what continues into adjoining rooms
    • Appliance install, hardware, paint, and a punch-list walkthrough before final payment

What we see in Plano kitchens

Plano's housing stock is unusually consistent: large lots and two-story brick homes built out through west Plano in the 80s, then the Legacy and Willow Bend build-out in the 90s. Kitchens from those years share a handful of problems — a peninsula that blocks traffic where an island belongs, an oversized bulkhead over the sink, laminate or early granite on 36-inch cabinets, and undersized wiring for how many countertop appliances a household runs today. Because the framing is generally sound, the good news is that opening one wall is usually straightforward, and the money is better spent on layout, light, and power than on chasing a trend finish. When permits are required for structural or electrical work in the City of Plano, we pull them and handle the inspections.

Two recent kitchens show the two directions a project can take — a full teardown and rebuild, and a refinish that kept the existing cabinetry.
